David Dupuis Author Talk at Severn Library

On May 2, 2026 at 1 pm, the Severn Township Public Library, 31 Coldwater Road in Coldwater, welcomes another local author!
Historian David Dupuis was born and raised in Penetanguishene, Ontario, Canada. A life-long hockey fan, he started keeping a hockey journal when he was only in his mid-teens.
In 1989, he began self-publishing local history books. His next endeavour was a book about his hockey hero, Terry Sawchuk. Writing this book was the chance of a lifetime, and his hockey biography, “Sawchuk: The Troubles & Triumphs of the World’s Greatest Goalie” was published by Stoddard Publishing in 1998. It is the only biography authorized by the Sawchuk family, and inspired the 2019 movie “Goalie”. He has since co-authored two other hockey biographies with L. Waxy Gregoire; “Heart of the Blackhawks: The Pierre Pilote Story” and “The Red Kelly Story,” which won the 2016 Ontario Speakers Book Award.
The sudden death of newly-elected Pope John Paul in 1978 inspired him to start a scrapbook about the papacy, and he began writing (in longhand!) a story about a boy destined to be last pope at the end of the world.
This novel became a nine-book modern historical fiction series, “The Hildegard Prophecies.
David lives near his beloved town of Penetanguishene with his companion Susan.
This event is free and everyone is welcome. For information, please call the Severn Library at 705-686-3601, or email library@severn.ca
