Hello Spring!

It is now officially Spring! We did it! I found this past winter to be really tough. I don’t know if it was the unrelenting weather or the lack of sunlight or just some personal challenges, but I do know that I wasn’t the only person feeling that way.. This year I am going to (once again!) attempt to garden. I do not have a green thumb. Something I am working on, regardless of the project, is not underestimating myself. Being brave enough to jump into something with two feet despite feeling scared or nervous and being prepared to learn along the way. Nobody starts something new and is an expert right from the get go. It takes time to build skill, knowledge and confidence. We’re often under the impression that everything must be perfect before we can even begin. Or that at the first sign of failure it isn’t meant to be so we just give up. Let me tell you from first hand recent experience – that isn’t true. Will you fail? Yep. But that is part of the process and it is what we learn from failure that helps us gain that knowledge. I am so excited to try gardening with my new frame of mind. Will I kill some plants? Most likely. But the first sign of a tomato or a berry will have me feeling so excited that it will have been worth the cost of gardening soil and some sanity. Wish me luck!
