
The Orillia Area Community Development Corp. (CDC) is now accepting applications for the Community Capacity Building Fund, with $20,000 available to support innovative and impactful projects across the region. Grants of up to $3,000 per project are available to help strengthen local organizations through activities that drive growth, sustainability, and long-term benefit. Applicants may be for-profit businesses or non-profit organizations within in the City of Orillia, or the Townships of Oro-Medonte, Ramara, Severn, or the Chippewas of Rama First Nation. Please note that registered charities are not eligible.
Ideal projects:
- Build capacity – Enhance growth or success within your organization
- Are innovative – Adopt new methods, products, services, or ideas
- Support sustainability – Focus on long-term organizational development
- Facilitate growth – Renew or expand products or services to create new opportunities
- Demonstrate collaboration – Involve partnerships that support shared success
- Are incremental – Add to or advance existing plans (not cover ongoing operations)
- Address local priorities – Offer long-term community or economic benefits (e.g., job
creation, business strengthening)
While past recipients are eligible to reapply, priority may be given to new applicants. The maximum request per organization is $3,000. Applications must be received by 4:00 pm on Monday, October 27, 2025. The Orillia Area CDC is a federally supported, not-for-profit organization that works to support local businesses, strengthen non-profits, and foster community economic development. Through business financing, training, coaching, and strategic community initiatives, the CDC helps build a more vibrant and resilient regional economy.
