Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
Parks Canada advises that due to higher-than-normal water levels on Lakes Simcoe and Couchiching, the discharge valves at Lock 42 – Couchiching, near Washago, will be opened this weekend to reduce risks associated with these high levels.
This operation will immediately increase the water levels and flows between Lock 42 – Couchiching and the channel below the Severn River.
The public is advised to stay well clear of this area as high-water levels, fast-moving currents, and cold water are dangerous. Keep a safe distance and supervise children and pets at all times.
