North Simcoe Victim Services would like you to join us for the 2nd Annual Christmas Tea & shopping experience, raising funds and advocating for local victims on Saturday, November 29 at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church Hall 99 Peter St. N, Orillia.

Since its inception in 1999, North Simcoe Victim Services (NSVS), formally known as VCARS in the North Simcoe region, has supported over 10,000 community members and their loved ones. Victims that we serve experience many different types of traumatic situations. A misconception is that NSVS serves only women needing support and safety from intimate partner violence.
Although this type of call is the highest percentage of calls that our Crisis Response volunteers respond to annually, our organization serves victims of sudden death, tragedy such as fires, motor vehicle collisions, disaster, crimes such as sexual assault, assault, fraud and many other types of tragic circumstances.
Due to the continual increase in calls referred to by the OPP, emergency services and social service organizations as well as self-referrals, NSVS needed to create fundraising plan to keep up with the demand for services. This need created the hiring of a development director compensated by an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant to build a foundation for fundraising and raise the profile of the organization to the region.
2024 was a momentous year for the organization with the development of two signature fundraising events, Ride for Refuge and an annual Christmas Tea raising almost $60,000 alone. These funds are helping to assist and support the services that we give to victims at no cost to them and their loved ones. Thanks to our hard-working commitee and our generous sponsors: Orillia For Sale-Christine Vollick & Stephanie White, McLean &Dickey Insurance, Desjardin
