Born in Hamilton and residing in Midland Ontario, my lifetime preoccupation with the Visual Arts is a happy affliction that continues to evolve through continued education, experimentation, and interaction with a number of artists’ groups. My creative journey enjoys constancy through joyous use of pigment, and bold, expressive mark-making. Through explorations in acrylics, glass, textiles, and pen & ink, I translate my fascination with colour into figurative, representational, and abstract works.

I enjoy participating in many platforms to showcase my artwork, including juried and non-juried shows, public and private installations, residencies, and artist exchanges. I create for the pleasure of creating, for the aesthetics (my own and my patron’s), but also for the platform it affords as a voice to address important issues. I believe that this is the real power of visual arts – delivery of a message without the use or need of words.
My current body of work is focused on organic shapes and colours found in fresh produce in a series titled SUSTENANCE. Through the vehicle of a seven-week residency with Quest Art in Midland, I have been able to utilize this series to engage with the community in messaging around Food Insecurity in the North Simcoe area, an issue that affects an astounding thirty percent of our population. Upon conclusion of the residency food donations gathered on site and a portion of artwork sales will be shared with a local foodbank, followed by social media content to reinforce the continued need for agencies such as these.
My artwork may be found in Public Installations and Private Collections throughout Canada, and select galleries. It is also available for viewing and purchase through organizations such as Quest Art, The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts, the Barrie Arts Club, and on my website.
