DESCRIPTION:The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County is offering a drop-in walking group this summer—a great opportunity to get outdoors\, socialize\, and stay active. This one-hour program is open to individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Care partners are welcome to attend on their own; however\, for safety reasons\, participants living with dementia must be accompanied by at least one care partner unless otherwise approved by program coordinators. \nThe program follows a flexible drop-in format\, so there’s no need to commit to all five weeks—join us on the dates that work best for you. Walking poles will be available for participants to use at their discretion. This group is best suited for individuals who can walk for 30 minutes at a moderate pace. \nParticipants will meet in the parking lot of the designated location at 10:00 a.m. After a brief warm-up and light stretching\, the group will begin walking promptly at 10:15 a.m. Please arrive on time so facilitators can account for all attendees.

DESCRIPTION:A Day Of Knights\n\nSaturday 15th August\, 10am-4pm.\nThis is a must see event for the entire community of Coldwater\, how often do you get to see knights and medieval reenactors battle it out right in front of you. Performing twice on the day once at noon and again at 2pm the ‘Duelling Weapons Academy of Renaissance Fencing’ get to display their practised skills\, period costumes\, tented encampment and share their knowledge of weaponry and life way back when with visitors.  This will be a great photo opportunity and a chance for everyone to shout support for their chosen combatant. Admission by donation suggestion of $10 per person\, children under 12 free.

SUMMARY:Alzheimer Society Walking Group
DESCRIPTION:The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County is offering a drop-in walking group this summer—a great opportunity to get outdoors\, socialize\, and stay active. This one-hour program is open to individuals living with dementia and their care partners. Care partners are welcome to attend on their own; however\, for safety reasons\, participants living with dementia must be accompanied by at least one care partner unless otherwise approved by program coordinators. \nThe program follows a flexible drop-in format\, so there’s no need to commit to all five weeks—join us on the dates that work best for you. Walking poles will be available for participants to use at their discretion. This group is best suited for individuals who can walk for 30 minutes at a moderate pace. \nParticipants will meet in the parking lot of the designated location at 10:00 a.m. After a brief warm-up and light stretching\, the group will begin walking promptly at 10:15 a.m. Please arrive on time so facilitators can account for all attendees.
