Chapter 1 The Big Bully
Sadie’s day started like any other. She woke up, got ready for school, and walked to the stop sign to wait for the bus. As she slowly walked to the stop sign she saw her little brother was already there. Of course, typical Sam, already up at the crack of dawn. She saw James Eggro, the school bully striding towards the stop sign and Sadie started walking a little faster. James was fifteen and much older than her. She stopped walking and hid in the bush on the other side of the road. She watched James walk up to Sam and give him his grade ten homework. Sam slowly tried handing the homework back but James smacked his hands. Sadie’s eyes smarted. She felt her hands get hot and behind her eyes get white hot until she couldn’t see. Without thinking she pointed her left hand (the one that had a strange birthmark) at James and Sam. She watched a tree branch fall on, ripping his backpack and spilling his lunch everywhere. James jumped up and ran home crying like a baby. Sadie jumped out of the bushes while her brother’s back was turned watching James run away. She walked over and leaned against the stop sign.
“Hey, how long have you been here?” asked Sadie.“Maybe like twenty minutes,” he muttered staring at his feet .
“Oh, okay,” she said even though she knew he was here for longer. She watched the bus squeal to a stop while thinking “How did that happen?”
Chapter 2 The Sneeze
Sadie opened the front door and stepped inside.
“MOM! I’M HOME!” Sadie yelled.
“There is a snack on the table, Sadie, you don’t have to yell,” said her mom calmly.
“Okay thanks,” replied Sadie.
She picked up her snack and walked upstairs. She walked passed her parents room, her brother’s room and her room. She walked in to the third floor bedroom and sat on the dusty bed. She liked this room because of the feeling she got whenever she was in it. Its like she could do anything.
She walked around and sneezed, “ACHOO!”
“Jeez, it’s dusty in here,” she sniffed.
She walked over to the window, opened it and left. What she didn’t notice was one of the birds on the wallpaper slightly shaking as she walked out.
Chapter 3 The Wizard
That night, Sadie dreamed. She dreamed of sneezing, wallpaper, birds, windows, and curiously, wizards.
She didn’t know why, she’d never really been interested in magic, even though her best friend Jessica was obsessed. Actually, Jessica was coming over tomorrow to hang out.
Maybe she would ask Jessica about weird dreams.
She
slowly
fell
back
asleep…
Chapter 4 The Forest
Sadie slowly woke up and ran downstairs to see what time it was. She looked at the clock and saw that it was 11:00.
“Jeez, I slept for a long time,” she murmured still half asleep.
She ran upstairs and got dressed, excited to see Jessica. She picked out a dark blue dress with black tights. She quickly put her hair in a ponytail and ran back downstairs just as the doorbell rang. She flew to the door and opened it.
“YOU’RE HERE!” screeched Sadie.
“YEAH I AM!” yelled Jessica.
“EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!” they screeched in unison.
“Lets explore the forest,” Sadie said excitedly. “Yeah, let’s go!” agreed Jessica.
As they ran, they didn’t notice a paper bird flapping out of the third floor bedroom window which was still open…
Chapter 5 The Flowers
As Sadie and Jessica walked into the forest Sadie pointed up a tree and said “There’s my tree house.”
“Can we go up in it?” asked Jessica.
“Yeah, let’s go,” Sadie agreed.
They started climbing up the tree. They made it to the top and looked around. Jessica spotted a field of flowers.
“Let’s go over there.”
She pointed to the field and asked, “Can we go over there? My mom loves flowers.”
They walked over to the field and picked some flowers.
“Mmmhhh, these smell so good,” sighed Jessica.
Sadie leaned over her shoulder and smelled them.
“Mmmhhh, you’re right.”
Then Sadie fell over and lost consciousness.
Chapter 6 The Cave And The Wizard
When Sadie woke up she looked around and saw she was in a cave. There was a poofy chair, a footstool, a small side table, a fireplace with a big black cauldron.
She laid back down and thought “I have a concussion. Oh god, I have a concussion, Mom is gonna kill me!”
Suddenly she heard footsteps, she quickly stood up and grabbed a candelabra and asked in a gruff voice, “Who’s there?”
A old man like voice answered “Me, of course.”
“Who’s me?” asked Sadie.
“Why, I’m your wizard godfather,” he replied.
“There’s no such thing,” scoffed Sadie.
“Yes, there is,” the voice stated.
“Then do magic,” Sadie exclaimed.
So the wizard looked at Sadie and it looked like there was a storm in his eyes when all of a sudden Sadie found herself on the ceiling.
“OH MY GOD!” Sadie screamed. “How do I get down?” she said fretfully.
She walked over to the chandelier and hung from it, all the while the wizard was watching. She fell from the chandelier and rolled over. She looked up at the wizard and asked, “Can you take me home?”
The wizard looked down at her and said, “It all began when someone left the window open.”
“What?” Sadie asked.
“It all began when someone left the window open…It all began when someone left the window open”
The wizard’s voice was growing fainter and fainter when it stopped completely and Sadie blacked out.
Chapter 7 The Wallpaper
When Sadie woke up she realized that she was lying in her bed. She looked around and saw Jessica sitting on the chair next to her bed.
“Oh good, you are awake. What do you need?”
“Water,” croaked Sadie.
“Here,” said Jessica.
Sadie noisily gulped down the water.
Jessica said, “I should go.”
But Sadie didn’t hear her at all.
Chapter 8 The End
Sadie slowly walked to the third floor bedroom and felt a breeze. She looked at the window and realized that it was still open. She walked to the window and tried closing it except it was stuck. She made a mental note in her mind to tell her dad to try. She looked at the wallpaper and saw something that made her eyes widen and feet freeze to the ground. She turned around, ran out of the room and didn’t look back… EVER!
