Winter Wonderland

So, I usually love the snow – I usually love winter! Something about the cold weather and being curled up cozy inside reading a book, with a fake fire on my tv, it creates such a nice calm atmosphere.

But this winter has been something insane. I have never experienced anything like this winter in my entire life but nonetheless, there are still aspects of it that I am learning to appreciate. I love how the snow looks, draping excessively over the eavestroughs. I love how creative I’m getting with where to pile it (I didn’t realize how high my snowbanks could get!). I am enjoying the snow tunnels that lead to the front doors of people’s houses (like a snow fort!). I bought myself my first pair of snowshoes which will allow me to walk around to the side of my house to dig out my exhaust vents (Hello new winter activity!). I am also appreciating the sun so much more. At one point I was laying on my driveway in my snowsuit sunbathing. So despite how difficult this season has been, there is still some good that has come out of it. There are still moments of wonder, glimmers of joy, and learning opportunities that I wouldn’t have experienced had it not been for this ridiculous winter season.

Spring is on its way, it’ll be here before you know it and this winter will be one of those moments in time that we share for years to come. Hang in there!
